School students
graduate!
Twenty-five young people from Langdon Park School
recently celebrated their graduation from an
innovative personal development programme at a lively
event in Guildhall's City Marketing Suite. The programme, run by
Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership, aims to keep 'at
risk' young people in school and included study weekends, the
targeted provision of business mentors, work-related visits to
business premises and conferences on topics including conflict
resolution, communication skills and work-related activities.
Deputy Joyce Nash OBE, Chairman of the City Bridge Trust
Committee, presented each of the graduates with a certificate and
congratulated them on their energy and perseverance. She told them,
'You are our future. Soon you will be running this great city of
ours. I am proud of your achievements and, more importantly, I hope
you are too.'
The project has been supported by the City Bridge Trust.
